Stack
  • Web systems
  • CI/CD
  • Requirements engineering
  • User acceptance testing

Context

At Infinity Computers & Communications Company (i3c) I worked on two public-interest systems: the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) Gender Statistics Portal, a web system for collecting, analysing and reporting gender statistics, and the redeveloped registry system for Uganda's .UG country-code top-level domain.

Role

Web Systems Developer & DevOps Engineer. I led development of the Gender Statistics Portal and was the DevOps engineer across the full lifecycle of the portal and the .UG registry.

What I did

  1. Requirements
    • UBOS stakeholdersFunctional specs, process flows
  2. Design
    • Prototype
  3. Build
    • Portal & registry
  4. Deliver
    • CI/CD
    • UAT & validation
One lifecycle, applied to both systems.
  • Requirements with UBOS. I gathered and documented requirements with UBOS stakeholders, producing functional specifications and process-flow diagrams for the portal's data collection.
  • Led the portal's design and build. Prototyped, then designed and implemented a web-based system for collecting, analysing and reporting gender-related statistics.
  • User acceptance testing and validation with UBOS, confirming the portal met its specified criteria and improving access to gender data for statistical reporting.
  • DevOps across the lifecycle for the Gender Statistics Portal and the redeveloped .UG ccTLD registry, implementing CI/CD to streamline deployment and keep both systems reliable.
  • Performance and scalability tuning of the web systems.

Outcome

The portal was delivered through user acceptance testing with UBOS, and the .UG registry, part of Uganda's national internet infrastructure, was redeveloped with a CI/CD pipeline behind it.
